This week as part of our mentoring sessions for the ECOFEM project Mckingtorch Africa hosted Tawiah Esther who discussed bookkeeping, business registration and other key aspects of making your small business thrive. Her talk was very engaging and accessible to all as she shared her knowledge in both English and Twi) so all could take something away from the session.
Tawiah Esther serves as the Executive Director of the Gender Centre for Empowering Development (GenCED), where she actively works to advance gender equality and empowerment. With over a decade of experience in gender issues, democracy, governance, and elections, she brings valuable insights and a collaborative approach to her role.
Tawiah has positively impacted various organizations, including the International Finance Corporation, ECOWAS, and the International Republican Institute, contributing to initiatives that promote effective governance and inclusive decision-making.
Her academic background includes a Master’s degree in International Politics and International Relations from The University of Manchester, along with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon. Tawiah’s commitment to gender empowerment and sustainable development continues to inspire meaningful change in her community and beyond.
