On April 22, the U.S. Embassy in Ghana hosted a thought-provoking session for about fifty environmental stakeholders and students in honour of #EarthDay2024. The event, which was held at the Embassy, was a shining example of cooperation and knowledge.
Erastus Asare Donkor, an environmental journalist recently back from an eye-opening reporting trip across the United States, led the discussion. Along the way, he visited Florida’s coast and learned about American policies aimed at protecting wetlands and the coast, as well as vital sources of drinking water. From there, he travelled deep into Arizona to investigate mining activities and acquire important knowledge about mining laws in the United States.
Erastus facilitated discussions on environmental protection, regulation, and the adoption of best practices by utilising his enriching experiences. His firsthand experiences and the ideas shared paved the way for environmentally responsible practices that are sustainable.
