When our CEO Makafui Awuku was called upon by the Semester at Sea to host a session for students from Europe, U.S, Asia and North America he decided that this should be the first sales and marketing experience for the girls in the ECOFEM training program.
Even though the girls were yet to complete the bag, footwear and earrings making training he decided to throw them into the deep end to try their hands on making products and selling them during the session in the form of a pop-up shop. They had 30 minutes to market and sell their products.
It was an amazing session and the girls made some money on their products. We are going all the way to make sure these girls become independent and run sustainable business models they can empower others with.
